What is the creative process to tell your visual story?
Step 1: Discuss Concepts for the Online Course and/or Video Series
Every great story starts with a script. If you are providing the script, we schedule a 30 minute call to review. If you hire me to write a script, you would send me any background material that would be helpful on the subject matter such as your website, sales decks, outlines, etc. We then schedule a 30 minute call to go over the material in detail to be sure I understand the key concepts, your target audience and goals for the video.
Step 2: Scriptwriting and Storyboard
If you are providing the script, awesome – we skip this step.
Otherwise, I refer to my notes from our initial call and draft a script for your review. Once finalized, we proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Voiceover Narration
Video and online course content needs a narrator to better engage the audience. The script is sent to the voiceover talent to record. You may hire me or another talent. Keep in mind, the voiceover file will set the pace for the animation or video and the timing (length of the recording) may vary depending on the voice talent. Typically, 140 words is about one minute of animation.
Step 4: Creating the Content: Draft Delivered
I get to work with full production, creating the visual storyboard, course and/or video bringing my creative ideas of how to best interpret your script for your audience to life. Most clients do not provide any storyboard or visual content ideas, and they leave that to me. But, if you have an idea in mind let me know. I add background music, create graphics, interactive content including interactive video, sound effects (if applicable) and deliver a draft for your review.
Step 5: Revision Rounds
I welcome any revision requests.
Step 6: Final Project Delivered
Depending on the content created, delivering will be via SCORM files to upload to your LMS for online courses we create, or we’ll deliver video content via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Vimeo to download.
